Frequently asked questions

Am I eligible to apply?

Most lenders in our network look for a few basics before considering an application:

  • 18 years or older and a U.S. resident
  • Steady income of roughly $800+ per month, from a job or qualifying benefits
  • An open, active bank account in your name

Meeting these doesn't guarantee an offer — final approval always sits with the lender.

Does checking my rate hurt my credit score?

SwiftFox itself only runs a soft check, which doesn't affect your score. If you move forward with a lender's offer, that lender may run a hard credit check as part of their own underwriting, which can have a small, temporary impact.

Why do you ask for my SSN and bank details?

Lenders use your Social Security number to confirm your identity and pull the credit information they're permitted to review — it's a standard fraud safeguard. Bank details let an approved lender deposit your funds and, where applicable, set up repayment. All of it is transmitted using encrypted, industry-standard methods; see our Privacy Policy for the full picture.

What will my rate and repayment term actually be?

That's set entirely by the lender who extends your offer, based on your credit profile and their own guidelines. Across our network, partners typically offer APRs from roughly 5.99% to 35.99% with terms from 3 to 72 months. You'll see the exact figures before you sign anything.

Why was I sent to a different website?

SwiftFox doesn't issue loans directly. Once you're matched, you're routed to that lender's own site to finish the application and review their offer in detail.

What if I miss a payment later on?

Repayment is governed entirely by the agreement you sign with your lender — SwiftFox has no role in servicing or collecting on loans. Your lender's disclosures will spell out any late fees or next steps if a payment is missed.
